Apprentice Mechanic
What a way to start your career! Learn & be mentored by skilled mechanics in a positive and engaging environment. An apprenticeship with our team will give you great exposure to different mechanical systems on a large range of plant & equipment. Engine & transmission rebuilds, hydraulic systems, auto electrical & air conditioning, suspension and plenty more. Given the nature of our remote work, we do prefer our apprentices to be 18 years or older at time of commencement.
Workshop Mechanic
Based at our workshop 15km from Katherine, our Workshop Mechanics enjoy the diversity of work we do, but like to be home every night. There is limited opportunity for overtime in this position, and limited opportunity for bush work, however it’s ideal if you need a flexible and supportive work environment for family reasons or don’t wish to work a standard 38hr week. A high level of mechanical understanding, and the ability to work unsupervised is essential.
Field Service Mechanic
Field Service Mechanic is a fantastic role to get you out and about. Lots of bush work, travelling with a Field Service Team Leader to support you. Ideal for mechanics fresh out of their apprenticeship, ready to gain more exposure and experience, or for the more experienced mechanic who loves the work and lifestyle, but doesn’t want the added responsibility of being a Field Service Team Leader.
You can expect to be out bush (staying on client’s sites – meals & accommodation provided) 2 – 3 weeks a month during the Dry Season, less over the Wet Season. This role is full time, with plenty of extra hours available.
Field Service Team Leader
To be a Field Service Team Leader, you need to have not only exceptional mechanical understanding and ability, but also be an effective communicator, comfortable relating with clients & site managers. Your responsibilities also include supervising & training staff, and completing all required documentation to a high standard. Delivering quality service is a massive focus for our business, so being able to follow our processes and apply our standards is essential.
As a Field Service Team Leader, you are responsible for a Field Service Unit – this may be a Landcruiser, Landcruiser and trailer combination or a body truck. You will be supported by a Field Service Mechanic and of course our Parts & Service Team, as well as other senior staff like the Field Service Teams Supervisor.
You can expect to be out bush (staying on client’s sites – meals & accommodation provided) 2 – 3 weeks a month during the Dry Season, less over the Wet Season. This role is full time, with plenty of extra hours available.
Field Service Teams Supervisor
The Field Service Teams Supervisor is a leading hand/foreman type role. You’ve “been there, done that” and are able to provide a high level of support to our Field Teams while they are working remote. If they need technical support – you are their initial go to. If they have logistical issues or other challenges due to the remote nature of their work – they are going to contact you in the first instance. You still get to do some bush work – mainly priority call out jobs lasting a few days, rather than weeks away.
You have a high level of understanding and experience in our industry, and of our standards. You’re flexible, adaptable and quick thinking, and you enjoy being on the tools – particularly enjoying the challenge of those tricky jobs that have stumped others.
Parts Coordinator
As our Parts Coordinator you are responsible for making sure that all the necessary mechanical parts are available when needed.
You work with our team, and our suppliers to ensure all parts & inventory are available when required. You keep track of these parts, ordering more when supplies are low, and make sure everything arrives on time. You also check to accuracy of delivered items and maintain records.
This helps keep things running smoothly and prevents delays. Effective communication, attention to details and the ability to work in a fast –paced environment while adhering to internal systems is essential.
By ensuring the availability of necessary parts, this role contributes to the seamless functioning of our business so we can support our customers to the best of our ability.
Accounts Administrator
Join our team as an Accounts Administrator! Collaborating with our Parts Coordinator, you assist with accepting deliveries, and processing associated paperwork. You also coordinate any parts returns that need to be actioned and follow up on outstanding orders.
Your meticulous attention to detail, proficiency with financial software and strong organisation skills ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
You also enjoy variety, and help fill the gaps, so step up to assist with a wide range of admin based tasks as required.
Yardman
As our Yardman, your days are varied, depending on your skill set, delivering and picking up freight, stock feed, hay and other supplies, unloading and storing these items.
Preparing and feeding out stock feeds and hay, maintaining our extensive complex lawns and gardens, irrigation maintenance and pool maintenance.
You ideally have at least a Medium Rigid truck licence, and experience driving a forklift and a tractor.
Our Yardman role is often filled by travellers who enjoy parking their caravan in our well equipped parking area, hooking up to power and water, and settling in for 2 or 3 months. 30 – 40 hrs per week for one, or split between two.
This role can also be incorporated to include Tradesman’s Assistant duties or livestock handling depending on your areas of interest.
